Importing Cards and Chips

Subcircuits
...     Importing Cards and Chips

Cards and chips exported as described in the previous section may be imported into new circuit environments. When importing cards, care must be taken that existing subcircuits are not overwritten.

Example: the following shows a circuit containing a small memory that uses several subcircuits.

To add an add8 card (or chip) to this circuit select Elements | Add Card (TB ) (or Elements | Add Chip (TB )). Select the card or chip from the file chooser and click on the circuit board to place the new subcircuit.

Note that when loading a card the subcircuits of add8 are embedded in the subcircuits of the memory circuit. Memory subcircuits with the same name as the incoming subcircuits will be overwritten.

Since a chip is a closed circuit, chip subcircuits will not interfere with existing subcircuits.
